For SS17, Delvaux moves into full rainbow mode. With daring and utterly unprecedented chromatic combinations, la maison has put together a collection of new models, each one more scrumptious than the other. From fresh, clean shades to a citrus-coloured palette, all the ingredients are assembled for a “psychedelicious” season.

Joyful Colours

A bold new tone is set with pairings of exhilarating colours. Ever prominent in the collection, the timeless hues, Nude, Noir, Végétal and Ivory are joined by sparkling colours like Citron, Lilas, Corail and Indigo. Toile de Cuir is revamped in the colours of a sophisticated rainbow mixing Nude, Citron and Lilas, injected with Ivory for an even more dynamic look. Surprising Alligator Libellule radiates subtle colour effects created by a refined artisanal process. Initially tinted in Indigo, the skin between the scales is then treated with turquoise pigments before a final touch of gold is applied. The result: a new, chameleon-like jewel finish that blends into the colours of the fine alligator leather.

The brand-new Vernis Gel finish plays with light, giving off an unparalleled depth of shine. This latest take on Vernis Gel shows up in the mini models, lending them the look of shiny bonbons.

New and Exclusive Techniques

To celebrate the Tempête’s 50th anniversary, a special Papillon motif has been developed through the manual application of five different shades of blue lacquer followed by a technical manoeuvre allowing the leather to be folded to obtain a Rorschach-like butterfly effect. La maison further demonstrates its mastery of exceptional savoir-faire with Alligator Rainbow. A master artisan meticulously sculpts cut-outs by hand between the scales to reveal supple calfskin in the colours of the rainbow— Nude, Citron and Lilas.

Bold Contrasts

This season’s must is the Brillant Magic in Noir or Ivory. Playful and surprising, the Magic opens up to reveal an accordion interior that is completely reinvented with bellows in Lilas, Nude and Citron spreading out to deploy all the luminosity of a rainbow. The Brillant GM goes Biface, with its two sides in Ivory and Noir or in Nude and Lilas—the former adorned with a Noir interior, the latter lined in the brightest Citron.

Delvaux’s signature Illusion design feature is likewise played out in the colours of the season with Tempête Mini and Madame Mini, in combinations of Ivory-Lilas, Nude- Ivory and Indigo-Citron. The contrasts are echoed in the metallic hardware including Madame’s feet.The new Mutin Mini boasts contrasting colours on the cut edges, while the Givry Borderline features Ivory piping on Noir and Végétal—and, the ultimate touch, its leather-covered buckle.

SS17 colleciton will be available in Feb 2017 at Harvey Nichols in Dubai and Delvaux boutique at 360 Mall in Kuwait City.
