Alice + Olivia Resort 19: Seventies Vibes

Alice + Olivia’s Resort 2019 collection’s seventies vibes, come courtesy of their inspiration- Ali MacGraw, a 70’s style icon, early activist and yoga devotee. Stacey Bendet drew inspiration from MacGraw’s mix of bohemian-chic elegance and free spirit. The collection reflects the mindset of woman whose style is effortless and completely her own.

The collection’s bohemian attitude is interpreted with a palette of red, camel, black, white with pops of yellow and teal. An elaborate mixing of prints with two tone florals, leopard and hints of chinoiserie are shown throughout the collection.

Classic 70’s staples including maxi and miniskirts, bell bottom and wide leg pants are shown in modern mixed prints and patchwork suede. Feminine prints with a buy now, wear now sensibility, like leopard and paisley, sequin embellishments and fur details accent the collection, offering an updated twist on bohemian staples.

Silhouettes span from sexy suiting, jumpsuits, and ruffled maxi dresses to colourful knitted separates and statement minis.

The A+O girl will mix and match these sophisticated staples, combining leather shorts with a printed blouse and shearling coat, patchwork suedes with fur-detailed knits, mixed printed tops and skirts are paired back to matching kimonos, and classic suits back paired back to chainmail embellished tops.

Alice + Olivia’s Resort collection gives today’s woman a versatile uniform for a modern take on the 70’s.
