Egyptian jewelry designer, Jude Benhalim, has launched her latest SS’19 collection, entitled ‘Raw Roots’; a collection that digs deep into the earth’s core and captures the textural beauty of the natural world, which often goes by undetected. Inspired by the beautiful illustrations of the anatomy of fruits and vegetables, Jude Benhalim channels the complex textures, patterns, structures and shapes in nature to reveal a hidden beauty found in organic forms; planting seeds for revolutionary jewelry.

For the first time, Jude Benhalim takes on minimalism in Raw Roots, exploiting nature’s building blocks of repetition, color and negative space. All pieces from Raw Roots are individually handmade to imitate and illustrate natural structures: symmetries, spirals, waves, meanders, cracks, tessellations and stripes; all found in cultivated forms. The collection explores depth of shape, singularity of line, orderliness and chaos as it relates to the deconstructed forms in nature.

By thoughtfully fusing patterns found in pomegranates, banana trunks, mushrooms and papayas with gold plated brass, 925 silver and custom-made colored resin stones, Jude offers up an artful yet wearable compositions.

Raw Roots features a total of fifteen gold plated brass and 925 sterling silver pieces with varying necklaces, chokers, earrings, bracelets and rings. The designer’s love of color is shown throughout the collection; with each piece of resin crafted and dyed by hand. The color palettes for this collection are very summery, infusing red, aqua, orange, purple and teal resin stones with gold plated brass and sterling silver, creating colorful fruitful hues that complement the jewelry and enliven the spring/ summer season.
