Looking behind the scenes into the ‘making of a LaLaQueen bag’, with handmade craftsmanship and sustainability at the heart of its activities, the LaLaQueen atelier is an inspired and ever-evolving workshop of design, dedication and ideas.
LaLaQueen is a contemporary Middle Eastern handbag label best known for the iconic Dr. Bag. Naturally-dyed leather designs feature colour tones which are mixed together in different proportions to create a feeling of vibrancy and fun.
Conscious fashion cuts it. LaLaQueen packaging is 100% recycled. Being mindful about where all the raw materials are sourced from, designer Sally Sarieddine ensures that she serves her community by hiring local skilled artisans, using recyclable materials, and ensuring fair wages and safe labour conditions to all employees in the workshop and avoiding the use of toxic dyes and harmful pesticides.
Her designs target progressive women who are influential in making a difference in today’s changing market. The designer sees sustainability as a major focus as the company continues to go from strength to strength.
“I’m a strong advocate of sustainable design and remain mindful about where I source all materials from. This is why I create timeless pieces, which can be enjoyed forever. I try to minimise waste where possible”.
