Sumayyah Al Suwaidi is an awarded Emirati artist based in Abu Dhabi. Her passion for digital art started in 1996 and, in 2001, she created her first collection inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. She created works by noting on paper whatever came to her imagination.

She begins each piece with a sketch, or a simple photograph combining textures, colors, contrasts that make her creations unique and invaluable. Her first exhibition was in 2003 in Abu Dhabi, showcasing amongst many of the UAE’s pioneer artists. Shortly after, she began to exhibit her work in various galleries all over the UAE, London, USA, China, France, Germany and Morocco. In addition, her work has been sold during a Christie’s charity auction in 2012.

Authentique Art & Design gallery is currently hosintg the “Only a Few” exhibition featuring unique works by the UAE’s first female digital artist-Sumayyah Al Suwaidi.

“Only a Few” brings together outstanding digital masterpieces. It is a transit of feelings and emotions brought together through joy and heartache a human experiences. We normally do not share our feelings or our true thoughts, and this makes us weak. Only a few people can be blunt and free; only a few people can say how they feel and get away with it. This is when we are part of that lucky few people”.
