This season Schiaparelli invites its guests to a spectacular dinner party of their artistry of couture. The collection is inspired by the art of dining. Bizarrely as it may seem to some, Schiaparelli draws inspiration, in some cases quite literally, from the aspects of dining, including cutlery items, tea pots, brooches shaped as hearts pierced with shrimp or padlocks mounted with broken eggshells.

However it would be crude to draw a parallel to the Mad Hatter’s tea party, for this is a gentle, yet exquisite showcase that could be more reminiscent of the characters from the other Disney classic- Beauty and The Beast.

The whole collection feels playful, light and well-structured. The patterned fabrics create irregular, yet unexpectedly cohesive shapes that add a sheer amount of volume to the skirts. The incredible attention to detail and the effortless use of fabrics to enforce the structure in corsets or elegant transparency create the signature Schiaparelli woman look. This is the exact show that can be expected from the Maison. We are looking forward to a fun Spring/Summer season with Schiaparelli Haute Couture.
