Enigma, the much talked about Persian restaurant at Palazzo Versace Dubai is celebrating the Persian New Year, Nowruz, with festivities taking place from 14th to 21st March.

Nowruz, which falls on March 21st, is the Persian New Year marking the first day of spring the Iranian calendar. In honour of this, Enigma, joined by Michelin starred Chef, Mansour Memarian, are celebrating with Persian culinary tradition and rituals. Guests can enjoy a unique set menu priced at AED 350 per person, of signature Persian cuisine.

The Nowruz set menu dishes are delectably curated and include mouth-watering Sabzi Khordan, fresh herbs with walnuts and homemade Persian cheese, roasted Persian bread, olives and homemade pickles, Masto Khiar, freshly grated cucumber and mint in yoghurt, and delicious Kashke Bademjun, charcoal grilled eggplants with Kashk, fried mint and roasted onions. Inspired by his Iranian origins, Chef Mansour has developed a creative gastronomic experience of truly authentic Persian cuisine with his own inimitable twist, making it the ideal setting to celebrate the true spirit of Nowruz.

The celebration of Nowruz, at Enigma, emphasises the uniting of family and friend to celebrate.

A week before Nowruz, guests can entirely immerse themselves in the Iranian spirit and enjoy marking the first day of spring with ‘Chaharshanbe Suri’, the traditional fire celebration enhancing the sumptuous atmosphere on the outdoor terrace overlooking Dubai Creek. Palazzo Versace continues to showcase its meticulous attention to detail, decorating the restaurant with Haft-Seen, a table-top arrangement of seven symbolic items traditionally displayed, enhancing the essence of Nowruz. Typically, before the arrival of Nowruz, family members gather around a table, with the Haft Seen set positioned, and await the exact moment of the March equinox to celebrate the New Year and exchange gifts. Enigma is recreating these beautiful traditions, emphasising the uniting of family and friend to celebrate.

Enigma will begin the celebrations on the 1st March, with Iranian singer, Mehran Safarian, performing traditional songs every Thursday and Friday, including on Wednesday the 14th and 21st March, to invoke the traditional ambience and enhance the exciting festivities.

Inspired by his Iranian origins, Chef Mansour has developed a creative gastronomic experience of truly authentic Persian cuisine with his own inimitable twist, making it the ideal setting to celebrate the true spirit of Nowruz.

Chef Memarian, who creates the beautifully curated and delicious dishes to accompany the celebrations, has 21 years industry experience. He has had stints at some of the world’s best restaurants, and he has held executive positions at many luxury brands. He earned his first Michelin star in 2006, at Jagdhof Glashütte in Germany, in just eight months as Head Chef. After this successful story, Memarian moved to Innsbruck, Austria, to open Pavilion restaurant and shortly he added the second Michelin star to his culinary career.

Enigma offers a new spin on Persian cuisine and brings the true spirit of Persian style to Dubai. The restaurant has become renowned for providing guests with an exceptional experience that allows them to interact with Chef Mansour and his team with several dishes being prepared live. Enigma is an idyllic setting and ambience to share the exciting Nowruz celebrations with friends and family complemented by delicious, authentic cuisine, and traditions to see in the Persian New Year.
