Gold Collagen, a product of MINERVA Research Labs Ltd., is a liquid beauty supplement that claims to revolutionize skin care in the form of a drinkable beauty solution, a product of Japanese and European beauty expertise.
The collagen drink is based on a unique blend of active ingredients such as hydrolysed collagen and hyaluronic acid, chosen for their anti-ageing benefits. It claims that its advanced formulations are specifically developed to maintain healthy skin, hair and nails by enhancing natural collagen production and increasing skin hydration as well as elasticity.
The premise of this product is that Gold Collagen liquid supplements are easier to swallow than collagen tablets, and readily absorbed by the body. Hydrolysed collagen, helps the body to form new collagen structures. It provides the amino acid building blocks and also stimulates the production of new collagen, elastin and moisture-retaining hyaluronic acid molecules. In short, the product claims to help increase skin hydration and radiance, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promote skin suppleness, and promote healthy looking hair and nails, with three different ranges available: Pure Gold for 25+, Forte for 45+ and Active.
As someone who is always on the hunt for anything that can keep my skin young and healthy, I had to try it. For 30 days, I would wake up each morning and drink the 50ml supplement on an empty stomach, as the company advises doing so for better absorption. Here is what I found:
The collagen’s flavour is not offensive, it has a slight sourness to it. I normally hate taking anything that resembles medicine in liquid form- but I was quite pleasantly surprised that this tasted more like juice than anything else.
My everyday face routine to work usually consists of concealer, foundation, powder and powder to set, followed by blush and bronzer for a unified colour. By the end of the 30 days, my routine had been cut down to a dab of concealer and a little bit of powder, as my skin had become quite clear and maintained a healthy glow on its own without the need for foundation.
I have fine hair, but it’s quite long and curly and loves to shed at any given opportunity. Over the 30 days, I did notice slightly less hair coming out whenever I brushed it.
I have always hated the look of chipped nails, so I quite often opt for gel nail polish, which has made my nails quite thin overtime. In 30 days of using this product, I have noticed less chipping.
One thing that I will note is that I have noticed my appetite increase over the one month, as constantly I found myself constantly reaching for snacks even though nothing else in my diet or lifestyle has changed. However, considering how much my skin has been glowing lately and how many compliments I’ve been receiving on my skin, I’ll say it’s certainly worth it.
