Rebellion against existing conventions: Dadaism- the artistic and literary movement of the 20th century; inspired Christian Alexander Beck for his 2019 Spring/Summer collection, for AIGNER. Striving for a new way of life, rethinking the familiar and breaking old habits.

With this DADA collection, AIGNER stands out while still retaining its classy style. The collection is a disruptive one: clean designs set against creative mixing and matching of patterns, and unexpected details such as trompe-l’oeil prints are reflected in clear shapes.

Focus on the dress’s fabrics, a classic black lace with flower artwork and colourful striped prints on tops, camouflage sequins, silk with stripy Dada prints, gauze with jewelled embroidery, bouclé in the blue/red colour block. The logo is the absolute eye-catcher in this collection: classic, or in italic or sporty block style. The all-over leather logo which is present on trench coats, skirts, bikers and bomber jackets is a highlight. Leather is undoubtedly a must-have material for Aigner and is used in fringy dresses, trousers, coats in colour blocks and jackets too.

The mixture of the 90s sporty appeal, along with black and white t-shirts and strong blue and tulip pink sweaters mixed with classy styles and chic late- ‘80s inspiration is a leitmotiv- paying a tribute to classic roots, yet breaking away from them according to the Dada Manifesto.

Accessories and a refreshing colour palette give the collection a brand-new vibe. Bright, bold colours such as Cyan Blue, Sage Green and Lemon Yellow characterise the look and are combined with muted summer shades such as Nougat and Cloud White. Signal Red adds a strong accent, whereas colour contrasts create an interesting mood and allow for brand new creations.

DADA’s vibes are also present in the footwear proposal with fancy summer boots, socks with logos, sneakers with clips, laser-cut high heels with sporty laces.
