Annarita Pilotti, the CEO of, and the lady behind Loriblu – the Italian brand in luxury shoes, recently visited Dubai, and sat with Velvet for an exclusive chat. Famous for its line of shoes that are real masterpieces, precious and luxurious, Loriblu shoes represent the best expression of the fascinating personality with class, uniqueness and passion. The label, which currently operates in 33 flagship stores and 4 shop-in-shop stores around the world, is one of the leading brands in the luxury shoes business and is a force to reckon with amongst celebrities and fashionistas. Ahead of the brand’s presentation of its Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Mall of the Emirates, Annarita shared a few thoughts about the brand’s growing presence in the region as well as its special take on this market.

You’ve visited Dubai a few times, what’s the purpose of this trip?
I come to Dubai very often to follow up on the marketing plans we have for this region. I make sure that I create good communication and cooperation with the managers handling the brands as well as to gather news and insights about the regional fashion industry. I want to be more prepared in continuing our plans of developing business outside the UAE. We’re already in Kuwait but we want to take the brand further to the other parts of the Gulf.
How important is this market to you, and how would you compare the Gulf with the other markets?
Different markets have different preferences. The buyers in China won’t buy the same thing that the clients in London would. In this region, I like the fact that women here have the taste for luxury. They love the colours, the embellishments and the elaborate patterns of our shoes. Some other markets won’t like this since they would prefer nudes and blacks.
What are the highlights of your Spring/Summer 2015 collection?
The topics that compose the collection, are varied; they are able to offer a kaleidoscope of colours, shapes and accessories, giving the woman a rich and unexpected journey into an enchanted kingdom. I would say that the jewel sandals are the undisputed symbols of Loriblu style. Italian luxury and creativity are expressed by the limited edition models (in which constellations of Swarovski Elements are placed on intertwined lists and offer an optical style, such as the knee-high gladiator sandal or the high-heeled sandal with ankle fringe), or by the “art deco” creations (in which concentric golden strips offer an elegant design).
How do you want the women in the region know Loriblu for?
I would like the women here to wear our shoes and feel beautiful and very comfortable. I would like them to not get tired of wearing the shoes only for one season. I want them to continue wearing our shoes for a long time. I’m sure they can find something to fit any occasion.
What’s the most practical tip you can share with women?
If women are looking for something practical to wear, then I would suggest they go for flats or our sneakers. Loriblu sneakers are the most stylish shoes, which are dedicated to anyone, who lives in an easy-chic way. Soft and comfortable, they express in each model an innovative style. From the golden sole to the maxi buckle at the ankle or the chain that wraps around the heel with metal plates: pure essence of rock.
