The Cruise 2019 collection of Oscar de la Renta, features pastel hues of pistachio, candy floss pink and peach, with Wedgwood-esque white floral embroideries that honoured Oscar’s legacy with millennial updates.

The most evident among looks were the suit jackets paired with shorts and novelty knit sweaters, giving the collection a more youthful feel. However, more classic Oscar looks came courtesy of slouchy pastel suits, toile du jouy printed cotton dresses, and tweed jackets worn with gowns in floral embroidered tulle, guipure and organza.

Some of it was youthful and fresh; however, Oscar’s legacy still lives on through classic silhouettes and elegant embroidery. What’s worth noting is that HRH Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, chose Oscar de la Renta’s Cruise 2019 collection, for the famous royal wedding, giving it the ultimate wedding season approval.
