Say no to plastic and get yourself a stylish re-usable bag when you shop for groceries at Spinney’s this weekend. Students from The College Of Fashion and Design in Dubai have designed these cool bags that environmentally conscious customers can flaunt.

The students from CFD entered a competition to design an environmentally friendly shopping bag for Spinney’s, one of the biggest supermarket chains in the UAE.

The winning bag designs are now being sold in the supermarket all over the country. CFD students were asked to design bags in three different categories based on a healthy living theme with an aim to reduce consumption of plastic bags in the UAE. Fatemeh Hajhassani, Zinah Issa, Jesus Silva and Hanean Baoom were the winners of this competition with Spinney’s donating AED1,000 to charity on behalf of each winner. The winners were selected by Morne Fourie, General Marketing Manager and Karolina Taterra, Events and Customer Care Manager of Spinney’s.
