Like in a dream, the Elisabetta Franchi woman walks in a magical and surreal dimension where the rules are changed, and time and space don’t exist, giving life to a fantastic game.

It’s this dreamlike dimension that inspires the new SS19 collection where imagination and inspiration blend with reality, bringing out the women in a labyrinth, that serves as a backdrop. In dreams everything is distorted. Traditional elements take unconventional and extravagant shapes: prints recall coloured skies with light reflections enhanced by plastic materials combined with fabrics; colour explodes in a lively palette, coming to life through embroideries that create a play of nuances like an explosion of fireworks.

Maxi sequins with almost fluorescent colours conjure a shower of coloured confetti; tulle flounces create showy volumes; spotted patterns are transformed into an abstract play of colours; classic tweed, is combined with denim with painted chains that mesh with the naplak and all-over prints that evoke childhood games. Alternating with the lettering print inspired by alphabetical dice, like on a coloured chequerboard. Similarly, PVC accessories soaked in paint add a seductive touch to apparel and shoes laminated and saturated with colour, reminiscent of candy and bonbons, acting as precious allies in a game of seductive femininity.

In this fantastic dimension, bijoux are also captivating and precious companions: as if a woman could wear her dream, hot-air balloons becomes precious chandeliers, as do lipsticks and perfume bottles. Bougainvillea, pollen, peony and aquamarine are the colours featured in this playful dimension, where the dreaming woman lives in harmony with her carefree spirit.

The iconic pieces of the collection will appear on the catwalk reinterpreted in a petite version, to be included in the ELISABETTA FRANCHI SS19 season “La mia Bambina”.
