Belong, a brand-new Dubai Design District restaurant and lounge pairs a discerning blend of comfort foods from across the Mediterranean with a bold range of beverages, and live music. It boasts an eclectic atmosphere, drawing upon stylistic and architectural influences from across the region, from retro Arabic murals and pop art, to hints of North Africa. The characterful space is warm and familiar, yet modern, a place where all are welcome.

The menu bursts with textures and flavours from across the Mediterranean. Such as succulent Salmon Tatare, or the Levantine shrimps tossed in fine herbs and lemon butter sauce, and lamb chops are drizzled in chimichurri. Meanwhile, lamb sliders are served with shawarma spices and tarator, pickles in rustic bread rolls– taking familiar favourites and presenting them in delicious new ways.

Sides range from green beans to green leaf salads, such as Halloumi salad, and French fries to sautéed mushrooms. The menu is rounded off with a range of delectable desserts, such as French toast that is lathered in salty caramel and sticky date marmalade, whereas the sponge cake oozes coffee, Chantilly cream and crispy praline, we opted for Orange Blossom Pastilla. The licensed restaurant and lounge also offers a tantalizing choice of wine, sparkling, beer, spirits, cocktails and mocktails. From a bubbling bottle of Laurent Perrier to a signature Pineapple Express cocktail, Belong’s beverages are the perfect accompaniment to its rich culinary offerings, and vibrant atmosphere.

During the day, carefully selected beats from across the Mediterranean play in the background. However, the lounge will also make its mark on the emirate’s nightlife scene, with a line-up of live musicians, performing nightly from Wednesday to Friday– taking guests on a sensorial adventure.
