I have always been a sucker for being pampered- and let’s face it, who isn’t?

Throughout my years living in Abu Dhabi, I have been on a constant hunt for the perfect salon and spa- one where I could walk in carrying my usual stressed self and walk out feeling like Beyoncé. That’s not asking for much, right?

Enter Bedashing Beauty Lounge.

Started in 2008 by the four Al Tamimi sisters, Bedashing Beauty Lounge has become one of the hottest spots for beauty treatments, thanks to its extensive and luxurious treatment menu, highly trained staff and its buzzy ambience. The lounge offers a wide array of services for nails, hair, body, eyelashes, brows, facials, tanning, Moroccan baths, make-up applications, and so much more, in addition to their own list of signature treatments.

Our Experience

With several branches available across Abu Dhabi and Dubai, there are many Bedashing Beauty Lounges to choose from. I decided to pass by the one on Khaleej Al Arabi in Abu Dhabi, a two-story villa decorated in pink and white, with a sign on the door that says, ‘for ladies only’.

I was booked in to try a multitude of treatments- including an organic treatment for hands and feet that comes alongside a manicure and pedicure, as well as eyelash extensions, a natural Aloe Vera treatment for the hair, and a blow-dry. Upon entry, I was pleasantly greeted by the receptionists wearing cute fuchsia and grey uniforms, matching the overall vibrant ambience of the salon. Right on time, I was escorted upstairs to one of their VIP rooms, where I lay down on a bed and surrendered to myself to a team of experts, who started on the treatments right away.

Eyelash Extensions

If there’s one thing any girl knows, it’s the difference beautiful eyelashes can make to your overall look. So, I opted to try the eyelash extensions treatment. First, the technician agreed on the length of the lashes with me, as it’s important to ensure that the length compliments my own natural lashes. As mine are quite long, we chose a mix of length 12 and 14 (the longest they have), to craft a cat-eye look.

The process can be quite long, as it takes up to two hours, as the technician must first gently tape my natural lashes down, then carefully glue individual lashes one-by-one onto my natural lashes. By the end of it, when she handed me the mirror to look at myself, I literally couldn’t stop staring. They were stunning! And the best part? I can actually say ‘I woke up like this’ and not be lying!

Of course, many are concerned about the damage that comes with eyelash extensions, but the technician reassured me that I would be okay, as long as I don’t rub my eyes, peel the lashes off, or use oil-based cleansers or products. The extensions would remain on until the natural lash sheds, at which point they would fall off and I can either remove them or go in for a two-week extension. The most important thing to remember is that removal should always happen at the hands of a professional and not at home, as removing them improperly will result in damage.

Organic Treatment for the Hands and Feet

Bedashing really does knows how to make a girl feel special.

While laying down with my eyes closed for my lashes to be done, a technician came and pulled out a tub from under the bed where she would do the pedicure, and another technician sat at my side to do my manicure.

After choosing my colour and getting the regular (very detail-oriented) cleaning, the ladies proceeded to give me an organic treatment for the hands and feet, which includes milk, honey, lemon, and avocado. The treatment is designed to infuse moisture back into the hands and feet, as it includes exfoliation, a heat-wrap, and a relaxing massage.  My hands and feet felt incredibly smooth after the treatment was finished, which made me love the colour that I chose for my nails even more!

The technician’s proceeded to give me an organic treatment for the hands and feet, which includes milk, honey, lemon, and avocado. The treatment is designed to infuse moisture back into the hands and feet, as it includes exfoliation, a heat-wrap, and a relaxing massage.  

Hair

I am obsessed with long hair, and always try to take good care of my locks by reducing heat as much as possible and doing weekly treatments to keep it as healthy as possible- a task that is tough given our weather and water in the UAE.

The hair technician began by applying a natural Aloe Vera treatment for my hair, which is meant to reduce dandruff, moisturize the scalp, and help with growing long, strong hair. It’s recommended to do it once per week to see effective results.  After keeping the treatment on for 20 minutes, she washed it (which included a heavenly scalp massage), and then gave me a blow-dry- complete with wrapping my hair up in pins to make sure that it lasts me for a couple of days.

Overall: We Came, We Tried, We Loved!

The morning after my treatment, I woke up feeling like a million bucks. I went to work with my hair done, my eyelashes fluttering, my nails glistening- you would think I was going to a gala dinner at 8am in the morning.

In a country that has a salon or spa on almost every corner, Bedashing Beauty certainly stands out- and will remain one of my number one spots. They’ll bring me as close to feeling like Beyoncé as I’ll ever come!
