Louis Vuitton and Sophie Turner Create a New Silver Lockit Bracelet to Help Children at Risk

In continuation of its #MAKEAPROMISE campaign, Louis Vuitton invited Sophie Turner, English actress and Friend of the House, to design a special Silver Lockit bracelet.

World Children’s Day, held on November 20th, marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. In continuation of its #MAKEAPROMISE campaign, Louis Vuitton invited Sophie Turner, English actress and Friend of the House, to design a special Silver Lockit bracelet to help LOUIS VUITTON for UNICEF continue its promise to helping children. Inspired by her notion of luck, the bracelet was designed with braided red and white cord colours with a circular charm rabbit illustration, taken from the design* of her most recent tattoo.

“The bracelet is meant to hold luck for the people to whom the funds go to. It’s about bringing people together from all over the world because UNICEF works worldwide and Louis Vuitton is all about travel. Red is considered a lucky colour in China and white coincides with the circular charm of the bracelet; a rabbit. White rabbits and rabbit-foot are considered lucky in many parts of the world“ explains Sophie Turner.

By purchasing the Silver Lockit by Sophie Turner, clients have the opportunity to support UNICEF, contributing to efforts for children in vulnerable situations, such as the refugee camps in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh. With UNICEF assistance, the Bangladeshi
government has been able to vaccinate 900 000 children and adults against cholera and save over 263 000 children from
malnutrition. Since the launch of the Silver Lockit in 2016, the partnership has raised over five US million dollars for UNICEF.
The Silver Lockit, inspired by the tumbler lock invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect clients’ most precious belongings, is a symbol of protection. It was chosen as a symbol of sealing one’s promise to help children at risk. The Silver Lockit
by Sophie Turner retails at 300€, 100€ of which is donated to UNICEF.

The launch of the Silver Lockit by Sophie Turner will be held on November 20th 2018 on louisvuitton.com and in over 160 Louis Vuitton stores worldwide.
