Quintessential British accessories brand Aspinal of London, announces its exclusive collaboration with celebrated British bridal and couture designer, Giles Deacon. Aspinal of London invited the renowned designer to “dress” his favourite Aspinal products by bringing couture design elements to a playful and inspired collection.  

Both the Aspinal of London and Giles Deacon brands were founded in the same year, and there are significant synergies between the two which have brought about the collaboration. They both have a shared sensibility built around forward-thinking creativity and a sense of elegant timelessness which encapsulates the inspired notion of “future nostalgia”. This idea of “future nostalgia” underpins the inspiration behind the collection, it interprets the past and present fashion in a manner which will continue to resonate long into the future, creating covetable and classic pieces.

The result is a fresh, colourful and embellished capsule based on Giles’s hand-drawn illustration of the “Aspinal Girls”, which appears on an all-over print on leather in various scales and colourways, as well as individual characters with a simple and elegant embossing of a single girl that represents the inclusivity of the collection.
The playfulness of the collection is designed to resonate with all woman of any age, wherever she may be. The collaborative collection adds unexpected materials and prints to traditional styles and includes a luxurious and stylish array of embroidered, illustrated and printed bags, clutches, silk scarves, small leathers and playful gifts including Christmas crackers.  

The Giles x Aspinal of London collection is presented in a sophisticated yet refreshing palette of emerald greens, bright corals, sophisticated neutrals and soft golds, with a choice of luxurious fabrics including a moiré leather, silks, and printed leathers. Further inspiration has been found within vintage illustrations, intricate antique jewellery and embellishments as well as the glamorous, golden and by-gone age of luxury travel. The Spring-Summer 2019 collection ‘Hero’ pieces include a reinterpretation of the Trunk Clutch which has been customised with an iridescent hand embroidered feather motif, inspired by the Aspinal logo as well as the hand illustrated Trunk Clutch carrying “Aspinal Girls” print.  

Giles’s intricately detailed designs embellish a selection of Aspinal of London’s most iconic and timeless pieces including the Hat Box, Regent Tote, Micro Lottie, Soho Clutch and Hepburn Bag. The graceful illustrations further continue across a range of purses, chic silk scarves, and travel accessories, with refreshing small leathers with new materials and finishes. Also, with the approaching gifting and holiday season in mind, the collaboration includes the ultimate luxury cracker set, containing embossed leather luggage tags, and a range of printed ribbon, tissues, and delightful gifting boxes.

 
Designer, Giles Deacon and Aspinal of London, Creative Director Mariya Dykalo will be in The Dubai Mall on 14th of November, for the launch of the new collection.
