Mulberry, revealed its Spring Summer 18’ collection, during the AW 18/19 collections at London Fashion Week, within the grounds of the magnificent eighteenth-century Spencer House in London on Friday 16th February. The live launch marked the start of “Beyond Heritage”, a series of events celebrating the new season of style.
Guests were led through a floral installation, into the opulent interior of the vintage music box-inspired show space, featuring cinematic projections- created by filmmaker Sharna Osborne. A mirrored central piece revolved and revealed British singer and artist Alison Goldfrapp, who gave an exclusive live performance of her new single ‘Anymore’. Guests included actresses Emma Roberts and Andrea Riseborough, model Jourdan Dunn and Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue, Edward Enninful.
The event was live streamed, and the collection was immediately available to shop via mulberry.com, as well as within their stores globally, plus the Mulberry pop-up store, within Spencer House.
Archetypes of Englishness inspired the Spring Summer 18’ collection- Edwardiana, Ascot Ladies’ Day, as well as garden parties, and the great tradition of tea in fine bone china. Pastimes from another time, to inspire a collection for the present-day. A juxtaposing of bold prints, and a playful colour palette combined with elements borrowed from the turn of the century, worked well with the trimmings and frills of sumptuous organza fabrics.
The silhouettes are completely feminine, and twists on traditional codes- playing with scale, volume and decoration.
